Challenges & Solutions
Pollination is nature's way of setting fruit and producing honey. The bee's work is critical to the food chain and current challenges threaten the bee population. Apple Blossom Farm is here to bridge the gap and assist controlled pollination and increase population. Pollinating more than 100 crops, the world's food supply relies on the honeybee. For example, these industrious insects fly over 55,000 miles, visiting 2,000,000 flowers to produce the pound of honey found on your local grocery shelf. The recent colony Collapse phenomenon threatens the western world's bees. More than 1/4 have vanished. This crisis is believed to have multiple causes. Viruses, mites, ag chemicals and nutritional deficits are all potential enemies to bees. The Hoffman family is committed to the preservation of honeybee population and all wildlife.
